Come funziona
Boards = ceil(deck area ÷ board area). Board area = (width in inches ÷ 12) × length in feet.
Esempio
Example: 200 sq ft deck, 5.5 in × 16 ft boards → about 28 boards.
Nominal vs actual width
A “6 inch” board is often about 5.5 inches actual. Enter the actual face width you will install.
Gaps
This simple model ignores gap spacing. If your pattern leaves large gaps, effective coverage per board drops—adjust area or width.
Hidden fasteners
Board count is unchanged by fastener type. Order fascia and picture-frame boards separately.

How many deck boards do I need?
Divide deck square footage by the coverage of one board, then round up. Enter actual width and stock length here.
What about stairs and railing?
